I few nights ago I dreamed that I was getting married to God. Most people’s response have been ‘you’re not thinking of becoming a nun are you?’
I found an interesting interpretation of dreams about God on the experience festival website.
To see God in your dream, signifies your spirituality and expression of your feelings about divinity. God also symbolizes an untouchable, unreachable, and unattainable notion of perfection. Thus such a dream may highlight your struggles and attempts with trying to be perfect. To dream that you are worshipping God, signifies repentance of your actions and errors. To dream that God speaks to you, signifies feelings of guilt, eternal punishment, and damnation. To dream that you are a god, implies your own special talents which you have not yet recognized or have not fully developed. Alternatively, it suggests your feelings of superiority over others.
The italicised sentences above best describe what’s going on for me. Am I looking to find such a person as a partner or am I trying to become that perfect person? Sometimes I’d just like to give my head a rest.
Do you have any other ideas as to why I’d be marrying God?

When you marry you are said to become one with the person so as god lives in you you are at one with God. God believes you to be perfect as you are so maybe hes offerring his love so you can get out of your head. X

I think I need to remember that I’m already perfect – as is everyone else. Thanks for thereminder Jenny. The next step is to get out of my head. I’m meditating an hour a day. Hope that will help.

Wow, what a dream, you never do things by halves … I love the thought of you being Mrs God…and the thought of you being a nun has made my day. Your dream may symbolise a new union with God… marriage is a vow, a commitment, a promise to love and take care of one another, being willing to work together…. It could be as simple as having a new sort of relationship with God. I don`t know what your thoughts about God were before this, perhaps you`ve had some underlying fear of God or whatever; this could be showing you that you are at the beginning of a new start, an acceptance of a loving God being in your life, and acceptance of the Godspark within yourself. Also, a promise from God xxx

Yes, I quite like the idea of being Mrs God. (Some may say I think I am already haha!) I like the idea of greater union with God which is the purpose of this spiritual journey, but I’m a Virgo and I think there may be some residual perfectionist tendencies that need a final shove.

More thoughts…it could also symbolise a Divine union, that we are divinely connected, we are powerful and God-like beings and therefore never alone. It may feel a little bit scary to feel an equality with God in your dream though, depending on how you feel about God in the first place of course! I`ll be interested to hear your conclusions when you reach them, as only you will really understand what this means for you… fascinating!
